Prochoice advocates will be gathering in Germantown starting Sunday, July 31st until August 6th. We will be having a peaceful prochoice presence at the clinic from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm Sunday July, 31st through August 7th.
On Sunday, July 31st at 1 PM we will be supporting Dr. Carhart’s kick-off walk as part of the clinic run Summer Celebration of Choice as well as maintaining a prochoice presence at the clinic. There will be a peaceful pro-choice presence training at from 4-5 PM on Sunday, and more each morning at the clinic.
We will continue to celebrate choice at 5 PM on July 31st with a Words of Choice performance at the Courtyard Gaithersburg Washingtonian Center (204 Boarwalk Place Gaithersburg MD 20878)
Please sign up for any/all times you anticipate being part of the presence here. As mentioned above, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, in coalition with the Feminist Majority Foundation & the National Organization for Women, will provide training on how to stay safe & stay positive in an environment of potentially-hostile protesters: on 7/31 in Montgomery County MD, with shorter “crash course” training onsite at the clinic each morning from 8/1 to 8/5.

We are working on connecting pro-choice supporters with housing, but need to know who and how many are coming!
If you do go ahead and book a hotel, we suggest you avoid the Hampton Inn in Germantown, at 20260 Goldenrod Lane. According to the antis’ website, this is the hotel they suggest people book rooms.

I’m still confused. If I sign up for the 2:30-6 pm shift and the 6-9:30 pm shift on 7/31, does that mean I’m opting out of going to the Words of Choice performance in Gaithersburg? Doesn’t seem fair, or am I misinterpreting things?
Alan, Yes, that is what it means, but you do not need to sign up for that shift if you do not want to do so. Some people will be present at the clinic while others attend the Words of Choice performance. We don’t want to leave the clinic completely void of a prochoice presence at any time during the week. But please make whatever choice is best for you! We hope there will be enough people to go around on 31st.
